What’s better than spending a day fishing in the beautiful Florida Keys? Doing it on a big beautiful luxury sportfishing vessel! For a limited time from June 1st-July 31st, you can book the Rhino, a 61 foot Viking operated by a tournament-winning crew, equipped with top of the line equipment, mezzanine seating, A/C, DirecTV, Bathroom, and more. This is not your typical charter boat, have the true “boat owner experience” without the cost of maintenance! With a limited number of charters available the sooner you book the better. These trips will offer Tuna, Mahi, Sailfish, Wahoo, Swordfish, and Reef fish depending on what is likely to be biting.
Captain Frank has been boating and fishing for over 40 years from Maine to Mexico. First Mate Chanelle Godfrey will help you catch and boat your fish. Chanelle is from South Africa and has an enthusiastic passion for fishing and diving.
The months of June and July offer some of the best fishing the Florida Keys has to offer. This time of year the Mahi are typically out in full force and hooking one often means bringing an entire school of them right behind the boat to be picked off one by one using cut bait, live bait, lures, and fly. Mahi-Mahi or Dolphin Fish can be found when trolling weed lines, under floaters, and under groups of birds working to pick off flying fish as they glide through the air trying to escape the fish.
Blackfin Tuna can also be found offshore and near the world-famous Marathon Hump, an underwater mountain teaming with life. Massive schools of Skipjack Tuna cruise around chasing huge bait balls. Wahoo can be found under floaters and enticed by jigs or trolling by.
Delicious Tripletail can be found near floaters this time of year and caught with smaller baits like shrimp and pilchards. Sailfish can be spotted free jumping in the open water leading to a thrilling chase and pitch bait scenario. Even Marlin can be found this time of year chasing slammer sized Mahi ready to give you the fight of a lifetime!
Summers bring calm waters generally, which can be the perfect scenario for some Daytime Swordfishing yielding catches in hundreds of pounds. Reef fishing in July can be excellent, especially during the Mangrove Snapper Spawn. Catching 6-8lb Mangrove Snappers on the reef with light tackle early in the day before heading offshore is loads of fun.
Whatever is biting and the conditions are the day of your trip, there will be something to target and that is what makes the Florida Keys so special. You will also be doing it in style and comfort aboard a beautiful, well-maintained, spotlessly clean vessel. Not much for fishing but love being out on the water? Book this beautiful vessel for an evening cruise and enjoy the picturesque backdrop of the Florida Keys sun setting on the horizon.
