I can't say enough good things about our experience with Manicsportfishing Charters. My family and I had never done anything like this before. I have to little girls, ages 12 and 8. Captan Shad and mate Aaron were so welcoming and sweet to my kids. They made them feel safe and confident to grab the lines, cast the rods, hold the fish.... and the highlight, catch a few sharks!!! We are still replaying the experience in our head a week later. Aaron and Shard were both so patient with our family of "girly girls" with no real on the water fishing experience. They encourage my girls in the best ways, and that is truly a gift. Not just were they great men on the water, they were great teacher and fun to be around. This experience was the highlight of our family vacation to the Keys. We will definitley be back and will use Manicsportfishing again. Not only was it a great experience, but because of them we now are a family who loves being out on the open water and LOVES fishing!

The team provided an exceptional three-hour coral reef fishing excursion. Captain Chad and deckhand Aaron skillfully navigated us to a prime location, resulting in a catch of approximately 25 fish, with 14 retained. Their interaction with the children was exemplary, fostering a comfortable and relaxed environment. We even had the unique experience of encountering and petting a shark before its release. I highly recommend their services for your next fishing charter; you will undoubtedly be pleased with your choice.

We had a great experience yesterday with Captain Shad and Aaron. We were a group of six with three inexperienced teens looking to catch some sharks. That was a first for all of us. Conditions weren't ideal with winds, but Shad and Aaron kept us entertained, and never gave up on finding us some action. Hands down the most fun I have had interacting with a charter crew. If I could give more stars I would. I know there was an earlier post talking bad about Shad and Aaron. All I can say is lighten up and enjoy the company and experience.

We had the most fabulous day with Captain Shad and Jake the Mate. We chatted before departure about where specifically we would fish, and Captain Shad’s recommendations were spot on. Our 7 year old must have reeled in 5 fish in 10 minutes at one point. Jake was very attentive and engaged, and kept all 5 of our rods loaded with bait. Captain Shad even briefly got in on the action, and demonstrated some precision fishing to retrieve a fly-away hat. We came home with a ton of snapper but were also able to catch and release a bonnethead shark, a cobia, several mutton’s, as well as a large shark that got away. 10/10 for the day. Go see Captain Shad and Jake if you want to have an amazing day, and learn what a fish with no eyes is called!

We booked a reef fishing charter for my family of 5 (kids ages 10,8, and 7). Captain Shad and Aaron were wonderful. They were patient with the kids and took time explaining how to reel in the fish. They also did a great job reassuring the kids when their fish got off the line or wasn’t able to be reeled in. It was pretty choppy the day of our tour and Shad made sure to warn us in advance and ask if we felt comfortable in those type of conditions (it was completely safe but with three kids he wanted to make sure we got the most out of our experience but also do what we felt comfortable with). Aaron did a great job filleting our catches and answered all the kids questions with kindness. I would book again!

We enjoyed catching many fish - snapper, mackerel, and more - and even got to fight and pull up a 7'-8' nurse shark! Amazing experience!! I organized this charter on behalf of some clients doing a company retreat in Marathon. The Owner, Greg, was absolutely fantastic to work with from the start. He is the only Captain who returned my call out of all the companies I looked into (I didn't even leave a message), he answered all of my questions, recommended the best combination of boats for our group, and communicated so well the entire time we worked together. I was not with the group for the trip, so he was my "eyes and ears", and let me know ahead of time that the weather didn't look good for snorkeling safely on the day of the trip, and did everything he could to be accommodating and ensure they would still have a great time. We had exact directions each boat (our group rented the 31' boat and the 36' Grady and was so impressed with both), and on the day of the charter, Jay, Shad, and Aaron took the groups out and were FANTASTIC! They ended up switching to fishing for the entire charter (rather than 1/2 fishing, 1/2 snorkeling) and had the absolute best time! They caught a ton of fish, and were able to take it to a "cook your catch" restaurant later for dinner. Overall it was an easy trip to plan and coordinate - Greg, Jay, Shad, & Aaron took care of everything and are knowledgeable, and safety-conscious while still being customer-focused and making the trip a great time. I think our entire group would go again in a heartbeat!

I rented an afternoon pontoon boat for my family. Best decision of our trip to the keys. We took a little cruise and did some fishing. Even though these guys are serious fisherman, the level of fishing we did was great for our family who are very inexperienced and it was an overall great day on the water. Frank the owner was great to deal with and our captain Brian was awesome. Perfect trip.

We sure enjoyed our morning fishing with Capt Jim today. Jim gave us a great experience start to finish. He was very knowledgeable about fishing and taught us a lot. At the end of the trip he even filet our fish for us and provided a recommendation of a local restaurant that would prepare the fish that we caught in a very tasty manner. The highlight was of course catching a shark that Jim let us picture and then release unharmed. Can’t wait to come back next year and catch an even bigger shark.

Our family of four went out with Captain Jim for a half day charter. Action was pretty much nonstop and catered to our requests. We caught an 8-foot tiger shark, 6-foot lemon shark, kobia, Spanish mackerel, snapper, etc. Captain Jim was very knowledgeable and efficient. Would highly recommend.

Highly recommend Manic Sportfishing! First off, Frank was extremely helpful in planning this fishing trip for my husband and son. Walter and I had an amazing day fishing on Loose Cannon with Captain Chad and mate Aaron. We started out strong and when the currents changed they did everything in their power to ensure we caught fish. So we tried a few different places and it worked! We caught over 40 fish, about 30 keepers and a prized grouper which will be dinner tonight. We can’t thank them enough for such a great experience. We have been on many chapters over the years and this was one of the best. We hope to see them both next December when we visit the Keys again.

Went out on a quick trip with shad and Aaron we had a few of us in the group who have never been out before. These guys were the best they put us on a lot of fish and they were hilarious and very hard working would recommend to anyone was a great time with zero seasickness we also took our catch to Florida steak and lobster house they made us some sushi and grilled and blackened some

Our family of 5 was looking for some fun on the water. We certainly found it! We booked the party pontoon boat with the slide to go out and have a little fun. Our Captain Brian was amazing and we had the best day! The only problem was it was only 4 hours and we wanted to stay longer!!! He took us to the perfect spot to snorkel and slide. He even took us to a sunken boat so the boys could see a wreck!! He was so knowledgeable about the waters and made sure we were having a great time! If you are looking for some fun, look no further! From the moment Captain Frank answered my call I knew we would have the best fishing experience. We booked very last minute but this was not a problem. Our great Captain Brian was so accommodating, helping my autistic son to get the best out of our time fishing. We caught so many fish and even caught 4 sharks (we put them back though!) Had a great trip with Capt Shad and mate Aaron. Just went a few days ago and we crushed the snapper ! Awesome trip. Nearly got a giant grouper but it got into the coral. Will get him next time. Book this company. They did a great job and my son and I had a lot of fun. We grilled our catch at Brutus seafood down here. Also recommend them. We will be coming back to the keys !

Captain Brian took my 10 year old nephew and I on the 26' pontoon for 3 hours. The fishing started off slow but at the last stop he put us on some fish. We hooked several Tarpon, a Grouper, and Baracuda. My nephew hasn't stopped talking about the huge Tarpon he caught. Thanks Brian

We are from miami Florida, not too far from marathon , FL. Keys. This is our second family fishing charter trip with Manic fishing charter. We had such a great time that we booked our 2nd fishing trip, and again we had a blast. We are a family of 5 and captain Brian was amazing with us. He was very attentive to our fishing sites for the best catch. He was very patient with my little guy helping him with his fishing skills and after a great time of fishing,captain Brian had us ready to take a swim in the beautiful waters. My kids had a blast sliding down the slide into the sea. I highly recommend taking a trip down to marathon and check out Manic fishing charter and ask for captain Brian.. 5 stars for cap. Brian.

Booked Manic while staying at Marathon, I have booked a number of trips in the past to hook into a shark, but over the years have not had any luck to grab a big fish (a lot of smaller ones over the years) we met up with Captain Jim for an 8 AM departure, and headed out on the 28'er. Set up and fished for baitfish and had the shark lines out. Jim did a great job keeping our lines in the water while tending to the big lines. My wife and I caught a number of keepers of different species but spot one did not yield one big bite. Jim pulled up and took us off to a new spot and again got us set up - the tide was better here and pulled out lines our pretty far pretty quick, as we where ending the trip, and pulling the lines in we finally got a hit on the big line. We got on a Lemon Shark, and I can finally tick the box on the big fish - Jim estimated it at around 10 feet and over 200 pounds. Feeling the power is hard to describe. I give them 5 start 1) because Jim was a great addition had a ton of knowledge and kept us fishing. 2) boat was great, 3) even if we did not get the big one we had a great day on the water. Would book again.

We had a fantastic trip! We booked the four hour shark fishing trip and even though conditions were not in our favor that day, Captain Shad made it a fun trip and we learned a lot (don't take bananas on the boat haha). When we return we are definitely booking with Manic again.

Got on the fish and had a great time Trip was great. Captain put us on the fish and the mate did a great job explaining the proper technique on bringing them in. When the bite slowed down we didn't waste any time and went to another nearby spot where the bite was much better. Mate tried several different methods while we were fishing for yellow tails to see if we could get anything else but the yellow tails were the most reliable. Would recommend, captain and mate both put us on the fish and we went home with plenty of fish.

My friend Lynn and I chartered a half day on the 31’ Steiger. The captain was Shad and he was fabulous in taking us to great locations to catch fish. First mate Aaron was so helpful bc we were first timers. We thoroughly enjoyed our day and will definitely book with Manicsport Fishing again!!! Best first experience ever!!!!!!!

While on vacation in the keys we booked two fishing trips with Manic Sport fishing, Frank was the coordinator for both trips. The first trip was a 4-hour tarpon trip with Captain Anthony from 4pm to 8pm on Saturday May 17th. The boat was a 28’ Sea Vee with twin outboards and was very fast. Captain Anthony borrowed this boat from a friend, because his boat was in for repair, although the two boats were very similar. Me and three friends went on this trip. Captain Anthony arrived at the dock just before 4pm, we quickly loaded the fishing gear on the boat and we were off to the fishing spot. The boat was spotless and the fishing gear was first rate. We fished under the seven-mile bridge. There were 5 or 6 other boats fishing between the bridge abutments. We caught a very powerful black tip shark and a large nurse shark. We lost a goliath grouper and maybe a tarpon. We saw a few tarpons hooked, but we did not catch one. We headed back at 8pm. Captain Anthony was very helpful and knowledgeable on fishing technics. He was quiet at first, but opened up later in the trip. On the way back Captain Anthony rescued two people stranded in a boat that would not start. He towed them back to the dock and showed his boating skills by bringing them right up to their dock. Kudos to Captain Anthony.

Our lead team had an amazing day on the water. Captain Jim was awesome. Put us in the best spots. We came home with plenty for dinner. As a closing to the trip we hooked a 150 lb shark. Perfect ending to our day. Thanks Jim and the team at Manic. We will be back.

My family and I had an outstanding time out of the water with Casey. She was very friendly and we caught a huge snapper that we ate for dinner at a local restaurant. We also hooked up on 2 sharks. The kids also had fun snorkeling and swimming the second half. The owner, Gregory, was also very kind and responsive, and actually helped me find my wallet when I lost it. Captain Shad and Jayden were excellent! There were 3 of us and we received individual attention. The crew was very knowledgeable. When one area didn't work out they took us to another are and worked diligently to make sure we had a great day.

Absolutely unforgettable experience! Went out on a shark fishing trip and it was hands down one of the most thrilling adventures I’ve ever had. Jim was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and made sure everyone felt safe and confident. We hooked into a few big ones and even got to catch and release a massive nurse shark and lemon shark—what a rush! The boat was clean, well-equipped, and the vibes were great all around. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or just looking for a wild story to tell, this is something you have to try. Can’t wait to go again!

My family talked me into the double decker pontoon instead of a real fishing boat but I’m glad they did, it was a great time! Kasey and her four legged first mate, Kylie, were the best. She put us on the snappers, we just couldn’t catch them… but we still managed a couple keepers. Snorkeling and swim was better than I expected. Good compromise for the whole family.

We didn't fish on Loose Cannon's Charter's; we were rescued by them! We set out for a day of mahi fishing when all our electronics and engine failed. The battery switch on our boat went bad causing our engine to turn off and we lost all electronics. We were completely dead in the water. Thankfully, I saw a boat in the distance and kept waving for help. The Loose Cannon from Manicsportsfishing Charters came to our rescue. Captain Shad boarded our boat ready to do everything in his power to help us. He diagnosed the issue, thought of a way to resolve, and after about 30 minutes he FIXED IT! Mate Aaron was keeping our boats safely tethered together, retrieving tools from the Loose Cannon to help Shad and telling us no worries "we got this"! And they did. I can't thank Shad and Aaron enough! We tried to pay them, but they refused saying that is what we do! "Help each other". I spoke with the owner tonight about the incident. This outfit is ethical, responsible and skilled! Next time, I'm leaving my boat at home (we trailered from Daytona) and chartering the Loose Cannon asking specifically for Captain Shad and Aaron! Thank you so much!
