We took 3 kiddos out that have never been fishing before, our captains were Shad and Aaron. They were phenomenally patient and helped the kiddos out greatly. They got us on a spot where the fish were biting like crazy and helped each kiddo catch multiple fish! We booked at the last minute for a super chill Keys boat ride – we wanted relaxation, pretty views, some sun and swimming, and peace on the water. My wife and I fished with Captain Jim and what an experience!! We both knocked off our bucket list fish of catching a shark. Our trip with Shad and Aaron was great! We have been to Marathon twice and fished both times with them. They were great with our kids and helped them bait hooks and reeling fish in. We caught a lot of yellow tails, a goliath grouper, mutton’s, and mangroves. Every time we come to marathon, we’ll be calling them!

Captain Shad was knowledgeable,personable, and attentive. He quickly showed us how to fish the targeted species and kept us busy reeling them in. Boat was great and the shade in the cabin came in handy under the June sun. Good times had by all. What more could you ask for?

Our family of 6 (4 adults, 2 kids) had an awesome morning reef fishing with Shad & Aaron. We were fishing for yellowfin snappers but also caught mutton, hound fish, blue runners, and a grouper. We had a great meal of yellowfin and mutton that night. The guys were fantastic with the kids and it was a perfect introduction for my 6 year old son and my 12 year old niece.

Captain Shade and Jake were outstanding! We booked last minute and they still went above and beyond to accommodate our family and make the trip special. They were fantastic with our young kids, worked hard to put us on fish, and made the entire experience enjoyable from start to finish. Had an amazing morning out on the water with Captain Shad and First Mate Aaron. This was a dream trip of mine and they put my son and I on fish from the very start and didnt stop until we were done. They definitely made sure it was a trip to remember. Highly recommended and I will definitely be using them again in future adventures down here.

Our family of four had a fabulous time with Shad fishing for mangrove snapper and then swimming and enjoying the water. Shad was so helpful and great with our 12 and 15 year olds. Had an amazing day of fishing the reef on 5/11/26 with Capt Shad and first mate Jake on a half day trip. We caught so many yellow tail snapper that we were worn out and asked to go in early. They were so helpful with tackle and instructions and cleaned all our fish when we got in. My husband is a retired fishing captain in So Cal and was very impressed. What an awseome day ! ! We chose the 4 hour reef trip. Frank, Greg, and Jay were amazing from start to finish. So much fishing knowledge on one boat was incredible.  They had all of us, including our less experienced fisherman bringing in yellow tail with in minutes. The Grouper line was in and getting action all trip. Once we caught our fill of Yellowtail, and a nice Mackerel, they made a move to put us on more Grouper. Sure enough we started hooking into some nice ones. Three broke off and one buried itself in the rocks, but they never gave up. In the last 10 mins of the trip we gave it one more shot. Sure enough, I hooked into a 60+ lb Goliath Grouper, and after a great fight, I was able to land it. Thank you guys for an amazing and memorable trip and thank you for the bucket list fish. I will never forget this trip. We all highly recommend this Charter service.  Thanks again guys!

We booked the offshore fishing 3/4 day trip with Captain Shad and Aaron and it was fantastic! They got us to a crazy Mahi Mahi hotspot and it was one fish after another into the boat and on ice. Captain Casey is amazing! We definitely had a five star experience. The first thing you need to know is that we are a group of four overweight, retired ladies, who are looking for an adventure! She was just who we needed. She took us to a spot where we fished and caught snapper and saw dolphins in the wild as well as an eagle ray! Van she took us to a snorkeling spot and made sure we were all safe while carousing in the water. We laughed a lot and had a blast and even learned a few things. Thank you, Casey!

I can't say enough good things about our experience with Manicsportfishing Charters. My family and I had never done anything like this before. I have to little girls, ages 12 and 8. Captan Shad and mate Aaron were so welcoming and sweet to my kids. They made them feel safe and confident to grab the lines, cast the rods, hold the fish.... and the highlight, catch a few sharks!!! We are still replaying the experience in our head a week later. Aaron and Shard were both so patient with our family of "girly girls" with no real on the water fishing experience. They encourage my girls in the best ways, and that is truly a gift. Not just were they great men on the water, they were great teacher and fun to be around. This experience was the highlight of our family vacation to the Keys. We will definitley be back and will use Manicsportfishing again. The team provided an exceptional three-hour coral reef fishing excursion. Captain Chad and deckhand Aaron skillfully navigated us to a prime location, resulting in a catch of approximately 25 fish, with 14 retained. We had a great experience yesterday with Captain Shad and Aaron. We were a group of six with three inexperienced teens looking to catch some sharks. That was a first for all of us. Conditions weren't ideal with winds, but Shad and Aaron kept us entertained, and never gave up on finding us some action. Hands down the most fun I have had interacting with a charter crew. If I could give more stars I would. I know there was an earlier post talking bad about Shad and Aaron. All I can say is lighten up and enjoy the company and experience.

We had the most fabulous day with Captain Shad and Jake the Mate. We chatted before departure about where specifically we would fish, and Captain Shad’s recommendations were spot on. Our 7 year old must have reeled in 5 fish in 10 minutes at one point. Jake was very attentive and engaged, and kept all 5 of our rods loaded with bait. Captain Shad even briefly got in on the action, and demonstrated some precision fishing to retrieve a fly-away hat. We came home with a ton of snapper but were also able to catch and release a bonnethead shark, a cobia, several mutton’s, as well as a large shark that got away. 10/10 for the day. Go see Captain Shad and Jake if you want to have an amazing day, and learn what a fish with no eyes is called!

We booked a reef fishing charter for my family of 5 (kids ages 10,8, and 7). Captain Shad and Aaron were wonderful. They were patient with the kids and took time explaining how to reel in the fish. They also did a great job reassuring the kids when their fish got off the line or wasn’t able to be reeled in. It was pretty choppy the day of our tour and Shad made sure to warn us in advance and ask if we felt comfortable in those type of conditions (it was completely safe but with three kids he wanted to make sure we got the most out of our experience but also do what we felt comfortable with). Aaron did a great job filleting our catches and answered all the kids questions with kindness. I would book again!

Amazing experience!! I organized this charter on behalf of some clients doing a company retreat in Marathon. The Owner, Greg, was absolutely fantastic to work with from the start. He is the only Captain who returned my call out of all the companies I looked into (I didn't even leave a message), he answered all of my questions, recommended the best combination of boats for our group, and communicated so well the entire time we worked together. I was not with the group for the trip, so he was my "eyes and ears", and let me know ahead of time that the weather didn't look good for snorkeling safely on the day of the trip, and did everything he could to be accommodating and ensure they would still have a great time. We had exact directions each boat (our group rented the 31' boat and the 36' Grady and was so impressed with both), and on the day of the charter, Jay, Shad, and Aaron took the groups out and were FANTASTIC! They ended up switching to fishing for the entire charter (rather than 1/2 fishing, 1/2 snorkeling) and had the absolute best time! They caught a ton of fish, and were able to take it to a "cook your catch" restaurant later for dinner. Overall it was an easy trip to plan and coordinate - Greg, Jay, Shad, & Aaron took care of everything and are knowledgeable, and safety-conscious while still being customer-focused and making the trip a great time. I think our entire group would go again in a heartbeat!

I rented an afternoon pontoon boat for my family. Best decision of our trip to the keys. We took a little cruise and did some fishing. Even though these guys are serious fisherman, the level of fishing we did was great for our family who are very inexperienced and it was an overall great day on the water. Frank the owner was great to deal with and our captain Brian was awesome. Perfect trip.

We sure enjoyed our morning fishing with Capt Jim today. Jim gave us a great experience start to finish. He was very knowledgeable about fishing and taught us a lot. At the end of the trip he even filet our fish for us and provided a recommendation of a local restaurant that would prepare the fish that we caught in a very tasty manner. The highlight was of course catching a shark that Jim let us picture and then release unharmed. Can’t wait to come back next year and catch an even bigger shark.

Our family of four went out with Captain Jim for a half day charter. Action was pretty much nonstop and catered to our requests. We caught an 8-foot tiger shark, 6-foot lemon shark, kobia, Spanish mackerel, snapper, etc. Captain Jim was very knowledgeable and efficient. Would highly recommend.

Walter and I had an amazing day fishing on Loose Cannon with Captain Chad and mate Aaron. We started out strong and when the currents changed they did everything in their power to ensure we caught fish. So we tried a few different places and it worked! We caught over 40 fish, about 30 keepers and a prized grouper which will be dinner tonight. We can’t thank them enough for such a great experience. We have been on many chapters over the years and this was one of the best. We hope to see them both next December when we visit the Keys again.

Went out on a quick trip with shad and Aaron we had a few of us in the group who have never been out before. Our family of 5 was looking for some fun on the water. We certainly found it! We booked the party pontoon boat with the slide to go out and have a little fun. Our Captain Brian was amazing and we had the best day! The only problem was it was only 4 hours and we wanted to stay longer!!! He took us to the perfect spot to snorkel and slide. He even took us to a sunken boat so the boys could see a wreck!! He was so knowledgeable about the waters and made sure we were having a great time! If you are looking for some fun, look no further! From the moment Captain Frank answered my call I knew we would have the best fishing experience. We booked very last minute but this was not a problem. Our great Captain Brian was so accommodating, helping my autistic son to get the best out of our time fishing. We caught so many fish and even caught 4 sharks (we put them back though!) What a fantastic day. Captain Brian then prepped the fish for us and we took them home, they were delicious. I will definitely use Manic Sportfishing when we visit next year.

My family and I went on the tritoon party boat and had a blast. Captain Bryan was great. We had two little kids with us and the slide and fishing were awesome. No complaints. We absolutely go out again with this crew.

Our family of 10 had an amazing time with Captains Shad, Jim and Aaron. With 10 people we had to do two boats, but booking was easy and we all had a great time. One boat went oceanside and hammered big snappers, while the other boat stayed in the bay and caught a bucket list grouper and other fish. We can't wait to come back!

Our half-day charter with Manicsportfishing out of Marathon Key was truly unforgettable! Captain Shad and First-mate Aaron, our incredible crew, made the entire experience exceptional. They were friendly, professional, and incredibly patient with everyone in our group—especially the teens who were fishing for the first time and on a boat for the first time. What truly set this trip apart was how knowledgeable these guys are about the waters. They knew exactly where to take us for action and demonstrated a deep understanding of local techniques needed to catch species like Mangrove Snapper, Yellow-tail Snapper, and Cero Mackerel. We were actively catching fish within minutes of arriving at their spots—an indicator of their expertise and familiarity with the area. Despite some of us experiencing a bit of motion sickness, the crew kept spirits high and ensured everyone had fun. And fun we had! Everyone caught at least one keeper, making the trip both exciting and rewarding. The crew went above and beyond by teaching us proper fishing techniques and showing us how to clean our catch, adding an educational touch to the adventure. This trip was not only thrilling but also a memorable family experience filled with laughter, learning, and incredible memories.
